Bonita K. & Maura

Bonita K. and Maura came to our farm in Reno on Christmas Day, 2003. My daughter & I had attended the Central Mare Show in Drachten in the Netherlands where both mares had been invited to come and participate in the Model Mares class, in which there were only 3 other Model mares. The Central Mare show is host to the best Friesian mares in all the world, the best babies, the best young mares, and the best in older mares. Hundreds of the world's most beautiful Friesians come together once a year to compete for top honors. So, here we were, watching 5 of the most incredible Friesian Model mares, not knowing that by the end of the year, 2 of them would be at our farm.

Bonita K. is well known for her many championship wins in her native Friesland, competing in-hand, pulling the Friesian Sjees, and especially for her highest IBOPscore on record for any Friesian Model Mare of 92.1AA. She received a 7.5 for her walk, an 18 for her spectacular trot, and 16 for her awesome canter. Then there's the scores for self-carriage, flexion, and maneuverability in which she received 16.8, transitions 16.8, and aptitude as a geschikheid als tuigpaard or, show driving horse 17. We are very happy with her!
